I was born in Springfield, Missouri in 1963. My father was attending Baptist Bible College at the time. I am a third generation Pastor.
I made a child's profession, but believe I wasn't truly saved until April 1983 in West Germany while serving in the United States Army. After leaving the Army, I spent three semesters in school at Pensacola Bible Institute. Prayerfully deciding to leave school I went to help my Pastor / Uncle at Whitworth Memorial Baptist Church in Tennessee for one year as Music Assistant.
In 1988, seeking God's direction, we decided to come home to Ohio where I enrolled at Massillon Bible College part time. We joined Louisville Baptist Temple and began to serve the Lord there as Bus Captain. After some time, I became the Sunday School Director, Junior Church Minister and eventually became the Pastor over all the children aged 12 and under. After three years of serving in these positions, I took a break from school and continued to serve at Louisville Baptist Temple.
In 1998, we determined to finish college and re-entered Massillon Baptist College full time. In 1999 I graduated with a Bible Degree. One year later, in 2000, I received my Bachelor of Divinity. I served as both Student Council President and the President of the Graduating Class of 1999 and 2000. I received the Richard K. Folger Scholarship in my senior year, the highest award offered at Massillon Baptist College.
While at Massillon, in 2000, I received permission to candidate. I accepted the Pastorate at East Sunsbury Baptist Church and continued as Pastor there until September 2003. I then accepted the call to be Pastor at First Baptist Church in New London, Ohio, and continued there from November 2003 until September 2006.
In November of 2006, I accepted the call to Heritage Baptist Church here in Upper Sandusky, Ohio. It has been my great honor to serve as Pastor of Heritage Baptist Church since the first Sunday in November of 2006.
I have had the opportunity to receive many credentials while serving in the ministry either part time or full time since 1988. Among which are; Bible Certificate, Bachelor of Divinity, Honorary Doctorate of Bible Education, Honorary Doctorate of Pastoral Theology, A.C.E. Christian Teachers Certificate and A.C.E. Christian Superintendent / Principal Certificate.
On a more personal note, I have been married since January 12, 1980. My wife, Tammi, has attended all Pastor's Wife classes at Massillon Baptist College and has earned her Associate Degree in Bible at Baptist Bible Institute in Bucyrus, Ohio.
My personal convictions are as follows:
-I am solid King James Version only.
-I am conservative in music and dress.
-I am Missions minded and believe in Faith Promise Ministry.
-I believe we must live in this world, yet be separate from the world.
-I believe the church has been mandated to go into all the world and that it is every saved person's duty to be involved in that mandate.
-I believe the church should be loved greatly by and led prayerfully by, the Pastor.
